A reflection about work with families within the Social Work Policy

Abstract

This study aims at reflecting about the methodology used in technical work with families, especially focusing on the reference public units of the Social Work Public Policy. Key questions for professionals that work in the social field, mainly in the Social Work Policy, will be highlighted. Conceptual, theoretical, methodological, social, cultural, and political aspects will be questioned for the proper deployment and implementation of social Protection; however, it is noteworthy that the human capital is the main capital of the social Work Policy, which has a privileged status in this public arena for a society of rights and therefore greater responsibility, not only of the professional as Public Manager. This stresses the technician’s need to have his/her own reflection about his/her professional actions and about the limits and possibilities of his/her relation with this work.
